About The Position
The COOP Student supports patient-care delivery, administrative tasks, and healthcare projects at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. The role provides hands-on experience in a healthcare environment and contributes to the student’s professional development. The position is per diem, onsite, and scheduled for 0 weekly hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a relevant degree or diploma in a healthcare-related field.
- 0–1 year of experience required.
- Strong interest in the healthcare industry and a desire to gain practical experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Proficient in basic computer software.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute as part of a healthcare team.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and privacy laws is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Answer questions from patients and their families and address concerns within the student’s scope of knowledge.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments to support efficient resource use and patient flow.
- Support patient-care delivery, participate in administrative tasks, and assist with healthcare projects.
- Enter data and maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems.
