About The Position

The Cooker Operator is responsible for operating PLC-controlled machinery, monitoring pumps and grinders to ensure quality assurance, and performing various operational and cleaning duties within a manufacturing environment. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, documentation of plant operations, and communication of any issues to the shift manager.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience preferred.
• Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment preferred.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Works well with others in a team environment.
• Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate PLC to control machinery.
• Monitor pumps and grinders to ensure quality assurance.
• Blow grease lines as required.
• Perform clean-up duties including shoveling the floor, hosing down floors and machinery, and using wheelbarrows and PITs.
• Operate the cooking process within selected parameters.
• Document plant operations per the GMP program.
• Notify shift manager of any issues or maintenance problems.
• Attend all safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
