About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of each batch of food. The Cook reports directly to the Batch Room Supervisor and is responsible for completing all assigned duties and tasks before their normal work shift ends. This role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines for production areas.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Basic math skills.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Obey GMP’s and PPE’s for production areas.
Walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
Frequently stand.
Occasionally sit.
Ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Complete all duties and tasks assigned before the end of the normal work shift.
Sign off on safety commitments.
Demonstrate capability to learn procedures for all products and operate equipment in all four batching areas.
Perform the primary responsibilities and general requirements of other jobs in the department.
Transport pallets up to 2,500 pounds using proper equipment.
Repetitively move and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work in a cool/damp area with an ambient temperature up to 90ºF.
Communicate effectively with other team members.
Maintain required productivity rates throughout the department.
Accurately weigh ingredients into industrial containers.
Safely and efficiently use appropriate tools and safety equipment, including hair nets, ear plugs, smocks, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
Perform other duties as assigned.
