About The Position

This position is responsible for mixing and measuring paint according to specifications, reviewing work orders, and ensuring the correct paint and part match before painting. The painter will clean parts, apply paint to the specified thickness, maintain the paint booth by changing filters and keeping it free of debris, and complete all necessary paperwork. A key aspect of the role involves post-paint inspection to ensure appearance and proper coverage. The painter must be able to effectively paint on various surfaces and metals, applying advanced skills to handle complex or non-routine situations. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to safety regulations and the use of protective masks and clothing during spray painting operations. The painter will also complete a daily checklist and properly utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA Guidelines, as well as maintain all paint equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
1 plus years of experience in Aircraft Painting: Preferred

Responsibilities

Mix and measure paint per specifications.
Review work order and confirm mixed paint and part match, prior to painting in booth.
Clean parts as per specification.
Paint part according to specification and thickness.
Keep paint booth filters changed, booth FOD free and complete paperwork.
Post paint inspection of parts for appearance and proper coverage.
Paint effectively on different surfaces and metals.
Apply advanced skills to adapt and meet complex or non-routine situations.
Observe safety regulations and wear protective masks and clothing during spray painting operations.
Complete the paint daily checklist.
Properly utilize all PPE required under OSHA Guidelines.
Maintain all paint equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
