About The Position

Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Full-Time Cook to prepare meals and snacks for residential, day students, and on-duty staff. As a leader in compassionate, trauma-informed care, Children’s Home Society is committed to fostering equity and inclusion in all aspects of our work.

Requirements

High school degree or GED required.
Must successfully complete all required background and pre-employment checks

Nice To Haves

Some experience in quantity food production preferred.

Responsibilities

Fulfill menu requirements and serve meals.
Wash pots and pans, trays, dishes, etc.
Take out kitchen trash to outside trash bins.
Cover, label and date all suitable leftovers for storage.
Take and record food temperatures at mealtime.
Maintain personal cleanliness, as well as cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
Take and record refrigerator, freezer and dishwashing machine temperatures.
Attend team meetings as required.
Participate in required in-service training.
