About The Position

Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Food Handler's certification
- Previous experience in the kitchen of a hospital or other large facility
- Experience as a cook in a mental healthcare hospital environment
- At least three (3) years of experience as a cook in a healthcare or similar setting
- Strong kitchen safety skills
- Ability to meet deadlines surrounding a very rigid serving schedule
- Ability to adjust recipes 'on the fly' to achieve desired results
- Ability to read and comprehend recipes and instructions regarding prepackaged products
- Ability to read, convert, and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe changes and development
- Substantial knowledge using commercial kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, and dishwashers
- Current CPR certification (or obtain prior to start date)
