About The Position

Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Food Handler's certification
- Previous experience in the kitchen of a hospital or other large facility
- Experience as a cook in a mental healthcare hospital environment
- At least three (3) years of experience as a cook in a healthcare or similar setting
- Strong kitchen safety skills
- Ability to meet deadlines surrounding a very rigid serving schedule
- Current CPR certification (or obtain prior to start date)
- Ability to complete "Handle-With-Care" Physical Restraint Technique Training during orientation

Responsibilities
- Adjust recipes "on the fly" to achieve desired results.
- Read and comprehend recipes and instructions regarding prepackaged products.
- Read, convert, and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe changes and development.
- Utilize commercial kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, and dishwashers.
