Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience as a cook or line cook in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant.
- Solid culinary knowledge, strong knife skills, and ability to execute consistent cooking techniques.
Nice To Haves
- Formal culinary training or certification.
- Experience in fine dining, farm-to-table, or luxury hospitality settings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Hickory’s recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment prior to each service.
- Execute dishes efficiently and consistently during service, maintaining accuracy, timing, and quality under pressure.
- Monitor temperatures, cooking times, and portion sizes to ensure consistency and compliance with culinary standards.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols in accordance with local health regulations and company policy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation throughout each shift.
- Assist with product receiving, rotation, and storage to preserve freshness and reduce waste.
- Properly operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with chefs, fellow cooks, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Support menu development, special events, and seasonal offerings as directed by the culinary leadership team.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen culture that reflects Hickory’s commitment to excellence and hospitality.
