Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community is currently seeking a Full-Time Cook to join our Residential Living Dining Services team! Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, every other weekend/holiday required Weekday hours: 9:30am-6:30pm Weekend hours: 7:00am-3:00pm Compensation: $18.00-24.42/hour, dependent upon experience Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Prepare, season and cook made to order food for our Independent Living residents in our Bistro Cafe Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while always adhering to food safety requirements Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and test foods being cooked for proper, flavor, temperature, seasoning etc. Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately to consistently prepare the correct amount of each item daily Present food using proper plating techniques Assist executive chef and other cooks with prep and special functions Assist in training new team members Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, culinary training a PLUS Minimum of 2 years experience in a hospitality industry The ability to manage one’s time and consistently place a focus on quality and attention to detail The ability to communicate with residents, co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect Serv-Safe Certification a plus, or willingness to get certification Most importantly, this position requires dependability, initiative and the desire to be a part of a team that's main focus is to bring our Mission to life for our team and residents: To provide for the spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs of our residents through high quality facilities, services and personal care in a manner faithful to the Bible and honoring our Lord, Jesus Christ.
