About The Position
Tucker's Italian is hiring one full time (or two part time) cooks. Tucker's bakes all bread in house, makes handmade pasta, cures meats, and uses a wood-fired grill. We are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a scratch kitchen focused on traditional Southern Italian cooking, not meant to be fancy. The menu is more pasta-heavy, and strong sauté skills will be much appreciated. We have a good selection of wine and beer on tap, and are located just down the street from the Alamodome, near downtown. We open at 8 AM and close at 9 PM, so we are typically done and out before 11 PM. This is the sister restaurant to Il Forno Pizzeria in Southtown.
Requirements
- Knife skills are definitely a plus
- Strong sautee skills will be much appreciated
Responsibilities
- Prepping food for service
- Long-term projects such as curing and smoking meats
- Small-item butchering
- Working the line during one or more of the shifts
- Deep cleans by day
