This position involves preparing, assembling, cooking, seasoning, and portioning food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors. The role requires adherence to food quality standards, performing cleaning duties, maintaining proper storage, and preparing the highest quality and safest food possible. It involves working with internal customers, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic culinary environment. The cook will follow standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines, document critical steps, and operate various kitchen equipment. An understanding of food safety, sanitation, basic math, and recipe comprehension is necessary. The role requires the ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk significant distances within the hospital.
