This position is responsible for preparing all food items properly in accordance with printed orders and plating instructions, avoiding waste in preparation. The cook will portion and prepare food items such as salads, appetizers, soups, desserts, and deli items in accordance with standard recipes. Basic prep cooking such as baking, frying, sautéing and steaming associated with food prep will be performed. The cook will follow set procedures in cooking, keeping equipment and area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with the production checklist, including supplies. Foods will be properly stocked. The cook will carry a calibrated thermometer to check prepared food for proper and safe temperature. Sanitation buckets will be maintained with the proper ratio of bleach to water. Protective gloves will be used when preparing food. Instructions from the supervisor will be followed. The cook must handle pressure during peak hours and provide exceptional customer service. The cook will work safely, following all established safety rules and regulations. Effective communication with co-workers, supervisors and guests is essential. All relevant policies and procedures will be followed. Compliance with the company’s recycling program standards is required. Other duties as assigned will be performed.
