About The Position

We’re looking for a dedicated Cook to join our skilled nursing facility team and help create nutritious, delicious meals that brighten the day for our residents and staff. As a Cook, you’ll play a key role in preparing high‑quality meals, ensuring proper food handling, and supporting a positive dining experience for everyone in our community. You’ll also help guide Food Service Aides during your shift, maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Six months of food preparation experience in a hospital, institutional setting, or restaurant preferred
  • Experience in long‑term care or healthcare strongly preferred
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification preferred
  • Ability to read and follow recipes; basic math skills (add, subtract)
  • Strong organizational skills and creativity in food preparation
  • Ability to take responsibility for accuracy and quality of work

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals for residents and staff according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
  • Assist in supervising and instructing Food Service Aides during assigned shifts
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safe food handling
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality in all food prepared
  • Follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail
  • Contribute to a positive, team‑oriented kitchen environment
