This position is responsible for managing and operating the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The Cook prepares tasteful meals in large quantities, follows prepared menus and portion control guides, and accurately prepares special diets and pureed foods. The role also involves maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen environment, recording food temperatures, and assisting with serving meals. The Cook must cooperate with personnel in all departments, ensure cleaning schedules are followed, and make food presentations appealing to residents. This role has supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
