About The Position
The Aloft by Marriott, located in Uptown Charlotte, is hiring for a full-time Cook. The person hired for this position will need flexibility to work AM or PM shifts; weekday and weekend availability is required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as cook
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
- Training from a culinary school will be an asset
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu
- Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner
- Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature
- Prepares and properly garnishes all food orders as they are received in accordance with menu specifications, ensuring proper plate presentation
- Checks all coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity, and quality of food products
- Takes proper care of ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, utensils and other equipment
