About The Position

The Village of Millers Creek has an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join their team. This is a permanent part-time position located at 1401 Harwood Ave. N., Ajax, with an expected start date at the end of August or in September. The hiring/starting wage range for this role is $22.82 - $24.87 per hour based on experience. Requirements

  • Certified as an assistant cook, Branch 1, under Regulation 1049.
  • Completion of the Food Service Worker Program from a Community College as listed in the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts & Technology Act 2002 or a registered private career College in Ontario.
  • Valid Food Safety Awareness Certification. (Ensure certification is uploaded with your resume)
  • Has experience preparing large quantities of food, preferably in a health care or long-term care setting.
  • Be able to lift up to 35lbs;

Nice To Haves

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • Produced food in large quantities, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting
  • Have proven leadership abilities
  • Contribute toward a resident-centered care approach ensuring respect and dignity to all residents.
  • Worked as a co-operative team member

Responsibilities

  • Create exceptional mealtime experiences for our residents and their families through the provision of delicious and well-balanced meals, fostering exemplary relationships with residents and their families while focusing on flexible dining and customer service.
  • Follow meal plans in accordance with Physicians orders and nutritional guidelines, and are able to lead other team members in pursuit of a resident-centered dining experience.
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of service to our residents, visitors, and team members through comprehensive and effective support.
