About The Position
The Cook prepares and serves meals to hospital patients, guests and staff including meals/snacks for in-house catered events. Maintains a “customer friendly” environment by treating all individuals with dignity, respect and concern for their well being while carrying out assigned tasks. Functions as a team member with other employees both in the department and in other departments of the hospital in order to meet the individual needs and expectations of each customer/family served.
Requirements
- Must be capable of communicating clearly (reading, writing and speaking) in the English Language.
- Must be capable of reading and comprehending written policies/procedures, menus, recipes, and individual patient diet orders.
- Must have the ability to receive and relay phone or other business related messages.
- Must be able to operate computer, telephone and other department specific equipment required to perform your job.
- The employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, stoop or bend.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, use hands, see, taste, smell, talk, hear and be able to reach and feel.
- Must be able to occasionally lift items up to 20 pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years old.

- Prior related work experience or training is preferred.
