Requirements

• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen, healthcare foodservice, or assisted living setting preferred
• Knowledge of special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets
• Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to food quality and presentation
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor when working in a senior care environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced kitchen setting

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals for assisted living residents according to scheduled menus
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Accommodate special dietary needs, restrictions, and physician-ordered therapeutic diets
• Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies to maintain adequate stock levels
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully sanitized kitchen environment at all times
• Collaborate with dietary staff and caregivers to ensure resident satisfaction and nutritional needs are met
• Assist with meal plating, portioning, and timely service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
