About The Position

Allegro Parkland, a prestigious senior living community in South Florida, is seeking an experienced Full-Time Cook for PM shifts. This role offers the opportunity to prepare nutritious and appetizing meals in a resort-style environment where the dining experience is highly valued. The cook will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, monitoring food quality, and collaborating with the dining team to ensure smooth meal service. This is a dependable, skilled position within a well-run kitchen, offering a chance to build a career with no late-night closings.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
  • Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • Adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hotel, resort, ALF, or SNIF culinary setting
  • Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Some software and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious, appetizing meals according to approved menus and recipes
  • Maintain top-tier food safety and sanitation standards throughout every shift
  • Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and properly stocked
  • Collaborate with the dining team to deliver smooth, efficient meal service
  • Be a dependable, skilled presence in a large, well-run kitchen
  • Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented making each meal service an exceptional occasion.
  • Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
  • Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes. Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies.
  • Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils. Properly maintain all kitchen equipment. Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
  • Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Other job duties as assigned
