About The Position

The Cook works on all stations within the kitchen and is responsible for food preparation, maintaining quality standards, keeping work areas clean and sanitary, and operating kitchen equipment in accordance with state and local health and food safety regulations. The position is full time, Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with no late nights. The Cook prepares menu items to order, assists with dinner preparation and community events, and performs station breakdown and closing duties. Requirements

• At least 5 years of cooking experience.
• Food handler card.
• Ability to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Hard-working attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items to order.
• Meet quality standards and maintain clean, sanitary work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
• Assist with daily dinner preparation and community events.
• Label and date products to ensure proper safekeeping and sanitation.
• Use appropriate knife skills for food preparation.
• Break down the workstation and complete closing duties, including returning food items to proper storage, rotating products, wrapping, covering, labeling and dating stored items, organizing storage areas, and cleaning food preparation areas, reach-ins, and walk-ins.
• Follow recipes.
• Prepare dressings, soups, stocks, and sauces.
• Grill, sauté, braise, roast, and perform some baking.
