About The Position

Alto Duval Station, a senior living community by Allegro, is seeking a dependable Cook to prepare high-quality, appealing meals for residents and guests. The role supports daily kitchen operations and meal service, helps create an enjoyable dining experience, and maintains food safety, sanitation, and quality standards. The Cook supervises the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director and Chef/Lead Cook, while also assisting with dishwashing and maintaining kitchen equipment. This is a full-time, second-shift position with evening hours and varying days.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current manager’s-level food handler permit.
Must be flexible and adaptable, detail-oriented, and team-minded.
Good time-management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
Positive criminal background screening.
Must adhere to the company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year of related cooking experience or equivalent.
Some software and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and plate delicious, attractive, high-quality meals for residents and guests.
Prepare meals consistent with local customs and tastes.
Follow standard recipes, budgeted costs, and company policies.
Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director and Chef/Lead Cook.
Assist with daily kitchen operations and meal service.
Supervise or assist with washing dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
Properly maintain kitchen equipment.
Monitor water temperatures and chemical compounds as appropriate to help prevent foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
