About The Position

Nodaway Nursing Home is seeking an experienced cook to manage the evening shift in its kitchen and prepare nutritious meals for residents. The cook prepares and serves meals efficiently, follows standardized recipes and procedures, and maintains a clean, organized kitchen in accordance with health and safety protocols. The role also includes supervising and training kitchen staff, monitoring supplies and equipment, assisting with menu planning and inventory management, and meeting residents’ dietary needs and the organization’s food service standards. The position is based in a fast-paced kitchen environment focused on customer service to residents. Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals, snacks, and specials for residents using standardized recipes and procedures.
Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen while following health and safety protocols and regulations.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and support.
Monitor inventory and order supplies and equipment.
Assist with menu planning and inventory management.
Ensure food is prepared and served to the organization’s standards and in accordance with residents’ dietary needs.
