About The Position

The Greenleaf Center has an opening for a full-time Cook. Greenleaf is Valdosta's leading behavioral healthcare facility and an integrated part of the Acadia Healthcare family. Requirements

  • Six months or more of verifiable dietary work experience
  • Must have six months or more of verifiable dietary setting experience
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID19 due to local, state and federal laws and regulations (Religious or Medical exemption is available)

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, working with and delivering food according to the nutritional needs of the patient/resident
  • Loading/unloading supplies
  • Storing food/supplies
  • Cooking duties as assigned
  • Filling in for the cook in their absence
  • Assisting cook with meal preparation, including actual cooking as required
  • Providing food and customer service to patients, residents, and personnel while maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation and safety
  • Perform defined work routines, using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager
  • Meet scheduled meal and snack times
  • Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures
  • Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled
  • Assist in loading food carts, and serving meals
  • Setting up the dining room and serving residents
  • Wash and store dishes
  • Prepares meals in accordance with recipes provided
  • Maintains portion control and serves portions in accordance with special diets
  • Ensure proper sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment, food and supplies
  • Food temperatures are maintained at proper levels at preparation and throughout service
  • Understands modified diets and is a team player in working toward patient/resident nutritional well-being
