Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience as a Cook in a healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or commercial kitchen environment preferred.
Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety, and sanitation practices preferred.
ServSafe certification is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals, soups, side dishes, desserts, and beverages according to planned menus and physician-ordered therapeutic diets.
Ensure meals are prepared and served according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
Monitor food temperatures throughout preparation, cooking, and service to ensure food safety compliance.
Prepare food in accordance with all food handling, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with meal service to ensure residents receive meals accurately and on time.
Properly label, store, rotate, and dispose of food items using safe food handling practices.
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, including cooking equipment, food preparation areas, dishes, utensils, and workstations.
Assist with receiving, stocking, rotating, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.
Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and dietary team to provide exceptional dining experiences for residents.
Follow all facility policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
