About The Position
Cranfield Academy Cary, part of Endeavor Schools, is seeking a School Cook to manage the school kitchen and maintain its safety and cleanliness. The Cook prepares healthy meals and snacks for students, helps create menus, and orders food and other kitchen supplies. The role includes organizing food-preparation areas and storage, managing inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards, including responsibility for health department inspections. The scheduled hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The listed pay range is $16.00 to $19.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Must adhere to North Carolina childcare sanitation rules.
- Food handler certification requirements apply.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, such as a computer and/or smartphone.
Responsibilities
- Help create menus and order food.
- Prepare meals.
- Regularly order food, paper goods, cleaning supplies, snacks, and other products to prevent stockouts.
- Process inventory of all kitchen items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including food-preparation areas, food containers, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Maintain a high level of sanitation and be responsible for health department inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
