About The Position
St. Mark Village is hiring a full-time Cook for its senior living community in Palm Harbor, Florida. The role requires experience cooking in a healthcare food-service setting, such as a hospital, assisted living, nursing home, or long-term care kitchen. The Cook prepares meals for residents with special dietary needs, follows production schedules, and serves food that is safe, appealing, and consistent in quality. The position is in person and offers day shifts of 5:00 AM–1:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, or 10:00 AM–7:00 PM. A weekend rotation is required; there are no overnight shifts. Pay is $16.00–$20.00 per hour, with credit for experience. A quality benefits package is available to eligible employees.
Requirements
- Cooking experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital, assisted living, nursing home, or long-term care kitchen.
- Experience preparing therapeutic, modified-texture, or special diets.
- Solid cooking and food-handling skills and working knowledge of food-service operations.
- Availability for the assigned shift and weekend rotation.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to produce a negative drug test.
- May be subject to a background check.

- Florida food handler certification or ServSafe.
Responsibilities
- Cook and serve meals for residents in the dining room and café, following menus, recipes, and production schedules.
- Prepare therapeutic and modified diets, including diabetic, low-sodium, renal, pureed, and mechanical-soft meals, in accordance with diet orders and texture guidelines.
- Cook in volume while maintaining consistent quality, portions, and presentation.
- Maintain food safety records, including food and refrigeration temperature logs.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tools, and equipment, including daily and weekly cleaning, and provide occasional dish room support.
- Train and mentor kitchen team members in proper food handling and cleaning.
- Promptly report damaged equipment or needed repairs.
