COOK: At Priority Life Care we understand that the dining experience is one of the most important factors at a senior community. Cooks prepare, cook, and serve delicious and healthy food. They are courteous and friendly co-workers, and follow established sanitation, safety, and dietary procedures.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 1 year of previous experience in food preparation preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming and delicious culinary experience for residents
- Ensures cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Monitors and records temperatures in refrigerators and freezers
- Delegates tasks to the Prep Cooks and Dietary Aides
- Reports any issues or problems that may arise to the Dietary Manager
- Complies with state and federal sanitation standards and all other applicable health care and safety standards
- Promote and exemplifies the Priority Life Care mission and values at all times
- Cross training required for other Culinary Department positions
