About The Position

Zion Mountain Ranch is seeking a Cook to specialize in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen support. This position will assist in meal preparation and kitchen cleanliness while adhering to food safety standards. The Cook will work in either and/or both the Cordwood Restaurant or The Get Outpost Cafe. The role involves assisting with basic food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and following food safety standards. If working in the cafe, responsibilities include guest service, preparing meals, handling cash transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of basic food items under the direction of the Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
• Follow established recipes and portion guidelines for all menu items.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and food storage areas.
• Assist in basic kitchen tasks such as chopping, peeling, and preparing ingredients.
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures in compliance with ServSafe standards.
• Assist with dishwashing, kitchen cleanup, and trash removal as needed.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Deliver excellent guest service in a fast-paced café setting, anticipating customer needs, and providing prompt and friendly service.
• Actively engage with guests to answer questions about menu items and assist with special requests.
• Prepare ingredients, assemble dishes, and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.
• Prepare handmade pizzas and operate the pizza oven according to menu specifications, ensuring proper cooking techniques and portion control.
• Accurately handle cash transactions, process payments, and balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling, including safeguarding against errors and theft.
• Ensure the café remains clean and organized throughout the day, including dining areas, kitchen spaces, and prep stations.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices.
• Collaborate with co-workers to maintain a positive, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.
• Work with a “safety-first” attitude.
• Minimize your impact on the environment when at work and living onsite.
• Treat our customers, co-workers, leadership teams, all internal guests with respect and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
