About The Position

The Cook performs food service production activities for patient services, retail, and catering operations. The role includes pre-preparing and preparing hot and cold foods while following dietary requirements, and handling and storing food in compliance with applicable regulations. The position is with the Food & Nutrition team at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital.

The schedule requires availability for weekday shifts of 10:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m., weekend hours of 6:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and a monthly shift of 4:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m. Weekends and holidays rotate.

Requirements

• No prior experience is required.
• Must be able to work the stated weekday, weekend, and monthly evening shifts.
• Must work rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Less than two years of experience.
• ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, seeding, weighing, and measuring; perform tasks such as chopping, slicing, dicing, pureeing, and marinating.
• Follow standardized recipes and use a range of cooking techniques and institutional equipment while meeting food-quality and serving-temperature requirements.
• Chill and store food in designated areas according to labeling, dating, food-safety, and rotation procedures, and complete designated food-safety quality-control logs.
• Comply with special dietary requirements, nutritional restrictions, allergen controls, modified textures, and other dietary needs.
• Clean kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas to meet sanitation standards.
