About The Position

Join the Creative - Northwood University Culinary Team as a Full-Time Cook! This role is located at Northwood University, 4000 Whiting Drive, Midland, 48640. The pay is $15.50 - $17.50 per hour with a variable schedule Monday – Sunday, offering 30-40 weekly hours. The schedule includes seasonal adjustments aligning with college semesters (August – December; January – May). Creative Dining Services on-site at Northwood University is looking for a passionate, energetic Cook to help fuel our vibrant campus community. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in their craft, and enjoys making a difference in people's daily lives.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years of culinary experience

ServSafe Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare delicious food items by following established recipes and menus, ensuring each dish shines in freshness, quality, and visual appeal.
Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over- or underproduction.
Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment at all times.
Properly open and/or close the kitchen if the work shift requires it, including unlocking/locking doors & secured areas, and turning on/turning off of all equipment essential to the operation.
Support other kitchen employees in ensuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately.
Build strong relationships with students, staff, and campus partners.
