About The Position

Join the Creative - Northwood University Culinary Team as a Full-Time Cook! This role is located at Northwood University, 4000 Whiting Drive, Midland 48640. The pay is $15.50 - $17.50 per hour, with a schedule of Sunday – Thursday, 3:30 pm – 12:00 am, totaling 30-40 weekly hours. The schedule includes seasonal adjustments based on college semesters (August – December; January – May). Creative Dining Services on site at Northwood University is looking for a passionate, energetic Cook to help fuel their vibrant campus community. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in their craft, and enjoys making a difference in people's daily lives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years of culinary experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious food items by following established recipes and menus, ensuring each dish shines in freshness, quality, and visual appeal.
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment at all times.
• If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen – unlocking/locking doors & secured areas, and turning on/turning off of all equipment essential to the operation.
• Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately.
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and campus partners.
