About The Position

This is a temporary (Fixed Term) position for a Cook within the University Staff employment type. There are 3 available positions. Two positions will work in the Lake View Lounge back of house, preparing menu items, doing prep work, and other related tasks. The third position will primarily be a cook in the Strada, but will also involve customer service functions such as preparing pizzas and pasta bowls, and interacting with guests. The role involves performing a variety of food preparation activities and related tasks according to quality and safety standards in dining venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of food preparation activities and related tasks according to quality and safety standards in dining, venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals.
• Trains and guides student workers
• Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods

Benefits

• Differential Weekend pay for work performed on Saturday and Sunday $.80 per hours is added.
• Differential night pay, for work performed between 6pm-6am an addition $2.50 per hour added.
