About The Position

Dalton Square is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare and serve fresh, appealing meals for residents and help create a welcoming dining experience. The role includes preparing food and full-line menu items, accommodating therapeutic diets, following safety and sanitation requirements, and providing pleasant, timely service. The Cook works with others to promote a team environment and must be able to work safely in a setting that serves residents.

Requirements

Current ServSafe certificate, or ability to participate in food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.
High school diploma or GED accepted.
One year of job-related experience, including food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets.
Must be at least 16 years old; in North Carolina, must be at least 18 years old if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer or mixer.
Ability to work safely in an environment caring for residents.
Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
Three years of experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or service environment preferred.
Culinary arts experience preferred.
CPR and First-Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
