About The Position

Allegro Tallahassee is seeking a Full-Time Cook to join their culinary team. This role involves preparing high-quality meals for residents in a senior living community, with a focus on exceptional taste and presentation. The position offers a stable schedule with no late nights, working 35+ hours per week across two shift options: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM or 10:30 AM–6:00 PM. Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
• Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
• Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
• Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
• Adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a prep cook, line cook, or in catering.
• Senior living experience is a plus.
• Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
• Some software and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented, making each meal service an exceptional occasion.
• Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
• Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes.
• Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies.
• Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
• Properly maintain all kitchen equipment.
• Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
• Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Other job duties as assigned.
