About The Position

NANA Management Services (NMS) is seeking a Cook to provide essential meal services within the Juneau School District. This position is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving nutritious meals to students and staff, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment, and ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations. The Cook plays a vital role in supporting the daily nutritional needs and overall well-being of the school community.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 1 year of directly related food preparation or cooking experience.
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Nice To Haves

A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.

Responsibilities

Prepare daily meals according to production reports and menus using standardized recipes.
Ensure food quality, portion control, and proper food handling and storage.
Maintain kitchen sanitation and food safety standards.
Direct Food Service Workers on daily prep, cleaning, and serving tasks.
Complete inventory counts, production logs, and verify supply needs.
Set up and monitor serving lines and ensure all areas are clean and stocked.
Assist with deep cleaning projects and fill in for absent staff as needed.
Operate independently while maintaining operational standards.
