About The Position

Apex Rehab and care is a 195 Bed long term and short term facility. Part-time cook needed weekends a must. At the present time we are looking for a talented, creative and experienced Cook for FT and PT positions to work in the Food Services area of a very busy and fast paced kitchen within our facility. In this role you will assist with the preparation, seasoning and cooking of meals for Residents as directed by Food Service Director or the sous chef.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in food handling and preparation, sanitation and safety standards for institutions and/or restaurants
• Minimum of a High School degree
• Must be able to operate in a fast paced environment
• Excellent ability to prioritize, deliver top notch customer service and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
• Ability to understand the English language and follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to follow all rules, regulations, policies and sanitary standards set out by management
• Serve safe certification

Nice To Haves

• Culinary or cooking school experience/ courses preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, seasoning and cooking of meals for Residents as directed by Food Service Director or the sous chef.
• Helping to prepare food for the next meal service to include chopping, measuring and mixing ingredients according to established recipes
• Ensure all procedures are conducted following required Health Department and Company regulations
• Check all food temperatures prior to meal service
• Garnish all plates before they leave the kitchen area
