Prepares food, including hot entrees, to specifications in an accurate and timely manner to provide guests with a quality product. Responsibilities include providing safe and wholesome food, maintaining a sanitary and organized work area, and demonstrating proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of all tools and equipment. The role requires competent product knowledge by correctly storing and handling all perishables, maintaining quality, security, value, and integrity. Food preparation follows standard recipes and specifications, with positive responses to training by chefs. Effective communication with other team members, including service and kitchen maintenance personnel, is essential. The cook will adjust equipment temperatures, prepare items as directed, and act as an expediter by coordinating functions between the food prep line and service personnel. This role also involves recognizing and correcting any product discrepancies and variations in quality, standards, and specifications, as well as storing and rotating food. Responsibilities include picking up and delivering food from various outlets and preparing items such as sandwiches, salads, cold specials, hamburgers, pancakes, hot sandwiches, and garnishes.
