About The Position

The Cook is responsible for the daily preparation, cooking, and plating of all food orders in an efficient, safe, and attractive manner. This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00-$15.00.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience as a line cook, fast-paced restaurant cook, or prep cook preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, management staff, volunteers and guests
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, some holidays, and long hours
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength, including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing, and handling of materials.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

Maintain a positive, respectful attitude at all times
Perform food preparation duties when needed
Check food for quality and presentation before serving
Ensure food is handled in a sanitary manner
Set up stations according to restaurant guidelines
Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by OVG. All food items must be prepared according to the menu build
Restock all items as needed throughout shift
Clean/maintain station by practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills
Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
Ensure proper temperatures are maintained on cooking and refrigeration equipment
Communicate effectively with the Expeditor
Awareness of food allergies and possible areas of cross-contamination
Attend all scheduled employee meetings
Additional tasks as assigned by management
Work together as a team
