About The Position
The Changeover Crew report directly to the Sr. Operations Manager. The position is primarily responsible for the changeover in the Arena from one event to another. Additionally, a member of the Changeover Crew may be involved in other aspects of building maintenance to include painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, snow removal, furniture moving, etc. This responsibility requires physical labor and heavy lifting and therefore has lifting requirements. The Changeover Crew is a vital component of the Arena in responding to the needs of promoters and clients—a positive attitude and a positive appearance are essential. This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00
Requirements
- Work flexible shifts, including mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays depending on the event schedule.
- Ability to work under deadlines dictated by event schedules and project timetables.
- Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects frequently.
- Previous experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, or other light power equipment. Training and certification required.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.
- Setting up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment.
- Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met, including, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies
- Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, carpet cleaning
- Get in and around the facility, bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and dealing with moderate to loud noises.
- Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, the garage, entrances, and the event plaza. Snow removal of the outside area is required.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as painting, patching, and other conversion-related operational equipment
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, or other light power equipment.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.
- Work effectively under pressure and a stringent schedule to produce accurate results.
- Wearing work boots is recommended for all shifts. The arena will supply additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
