About The Position
The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charlotte City Center is currently hiring for a full-time Cook. The hours for this position are 4pm-1am; weekday and weekend availability is required. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to customer satisfaction by preparing and serving high quality food products in accordance with the standards of the hotel.
Requirements
- Proven experience as cook
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
- Training from a culinary school will be an asset
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu
- Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner
- Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature
- Prepares and properly garnishes all food orders as they are received in accordance with menu specifications, ensuring proper plate presentation
- Checks all coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity, and quality of food products
- Takes proper care of ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, utensils and other equipment
