About The Position

Are you the type of person that enjoys serving healthy meals each day? Do you enjoy the laughter and smiles of young children? If you said yes to both of these questions we have the opportunity for you! The Wilder Child Development Center is looking for someone that is passionate about health and providing appetizing, well balanced meals for our children from ages 16 months-5 years old.

Requirements

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
• Ability to work in a child-centered environment.
• Knowledge of the CACFP requirements in respect to portion sizes, food production records.
• Serve Safe certification required.
• One year experience cooking for and serving large groups of people required.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and web browsers effectively.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a team member with a diverse group of staff and clients.

Nice To Haves

• A Food Manager’s License is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare appetizing, well-balanced meals for children aged 16 months to 5 years old.
• Ensure meals are healthy and meet CACFP requirements regarding portion sizes and food production records.
• Plan menus and track meals.
• Order food supplies.
• Prepare culturally diverse meals that represent the clients and families at the center.
