About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of each batch of food. The Cook reports directly to the Batch Room Supervisor and is responsible for completing all assigned duties and tasks before their normal work shift ends. This position requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines for production areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
  • Ability to learn procedures for all products and operate equipment in all four batching areas.
  • Ability to perform the primary responsibilities and general requirements of other jobs in the department.
  • Ability to transport pallets up to 2,500 pounds with proper equipment.
  • Ability to repetitively move and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a cool/damp area with an ambient temperature up to 90ºF.
  • Effective communication skills with team members.
  • Ability to maintain productivity rates.
  • Ability to accurately weigh ingredients into industrial containers.
  • Safe and efficient use of appropriate tools and safety equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Regularly required to walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Frequently required to stand.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust focus.
