About The Position
This is a part-time Cook position within the Food and Nutrition department at Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation: NorthEast. The role involves preparing food according to menus and recipes, maintaining production records, and ensuring food quality and safety. The position requires the ability to work various shifts, including rotating weekends, and involves physical demands such as lifting and exposure to kitchen environments and potential infectious diseases.
Requirements
- Ability to read recipes and production records.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 years experience as a cook or in food preparation preferred.
Responsibilities
- Reviews menus, assembles food supplies and equipment for daily food production following instructions and assignments by manager.
- Follows recipe and other production methods to complete preparation of assigned menu items.
- Completes daily production records as required.
- Observes and tests food being prepared by tasting, smelling, and using a thermometer to determine that it is prepared according to the recipe.
- Labels, dates and properly stores leftovers.
