Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
1-3 years of prior experience as a cook in a structured culinary environment
Ability to prepare meals for large groups efficiently
Familiarity with special dietary needs (e.g., allergies, religious restrictions)
ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
Excellent time management and organization skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

Formal training in the culinary arts preferred, but not mandatory
Prior experience in institutional cooking (e.g., schools, hospitals, or catering) is highly valued

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and meals according to menus, recipes, and production schedules while maintaining quality, nutrition, and presentation standards.
Follow food safety, sanitation, storage, and temperature control procedures at all times.
Complete daily prep, opening/closing, and cleaning duties for kitchen equipment and work areas.
Maintain inventory through proper ordering, documentation, stock rotation, and storage practices.
Meet service deadlines for patient meals, cafeteria operations, and catering functions.
Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
Identify operational improvement opportunities and report maintenance or repair needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
