About The Position

Grandhaven Senior Living is looking for a Cook to join our growing team! The right candidate will have experience as a Cook and will be responsible for the preparation of meals for our community.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required
Serv-Safe Certified (or equivalent) or will obtain within 30 days, required.
CPR Certification required (within 60 days of hire)
First Aid Certification required (within 60 days of hire)
1 year of professional cooking experience is required, preferably in hospitality or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Ensures that food is prepared safely, efficiently and according to specifications or requests.
Operates in accordance with all applicable health, safety, and hygiene codes and standards.
Participate in department staff meetings and applicable resident committee meetings.
Ensures the highest quality of customer services for all residents.
Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner following recipes and presentation specifications.
Document temperatures of food prior to service, refrigeration and freezer temperatures on Temperature Logs.
Cleans, cuts, prepares, and cooks meat, fish, or poultry to a safe temperature.
Prepares and cooks various items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, or numbers of portions to be served.
Apportions and serves food to residents and ensures that snacks and beverages are available to residents at all times.
Assists with developing, compiling, and maintaining food records regarding use and expenditures as well as food records in regard to residents’ dietary requirements.
Inventories supplies and equipment.
Assists in determining meals and menus.
