Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Serv Safe Certification Required within 60 days of hire.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or provide a signed exemption statement for medical or personal reasons upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with proper food safety/sanitation procedures and knowledge of HACCP principles preferred.
  • Two years of culinary experience in an institutional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare short-order foods, made-to-order foods, and Garde Manger for all departmental feeding responsibilities.
  • Perform scratch cooking, including soups, stews, chowders, and chili.
  • Monitor food produced for quality, temperature, and flavor, making corrections as needed.
  • Extend recipes accurately to ensure proper yields and maintain meal costs.
  • Keep production and temperature records up to date and report any problems to the Chef or Manager on duty.
  • Maintain all refrigerators and freezers clean and organized.
  • Follow established sanitation guidelines.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
