About The Position

Pinewood Square, a Navion Senior Living community in Goose Creek, South Carolina, is hiring a full-time Cook to prepare and serve fresh, appealing meals for residents. The Cook helps create a welcoming dining experience and provides timely, high-quality service while working as part of a team. The position requires work every weekend, Friday through Sunday.

The role is suited to someone who enjoys preparing food and working with people. A qualified candidate has at least one year of senior housing cooking experience and familiarity with DPH regulations. Requirements

• At least one year of job-related experience, including food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets.
• Familiarity with DPH regulations.
• Current ServSafe certificate, or ability to participate in food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.
• High school diploma or GED accepted.
• Must be at least 16 years old. In North Carolina, must be at least 18 to operate power-driven machines such as a meat slicer or mixer.
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to oneself or others.
• Ability to work every weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Nice To Haves

• Culinary apprenticeship or training.
• Three years of experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or service environment.
• Culinary arts experience.
• CPR and First-Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
