About The Position
Selrico Services Inc. is seeking a Cook to work at the Juvenile Detention Center in San Antonio, Texas. The role prepares nutritious, balanced meals that meet dietary needs, follows food safety standards, and supports the well-being of detained youth. It requires attention to detail, reliability, and maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen environment. The Cook prepares meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, maintains kitchen cleanliness and organization, monitors inventory, and collaborates with detention center staff to meet meal schedules and special dietary requirements. The role may also assist with meal planning and food preparation as needed.
Requirements
- Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in a structured and secure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods as needed.
- Must pass an extensive background check.
