About The Position

Greystone is an independent seniors living home where meals served are all of regular texture. The Cook is responsible for lunch and dinner preparation, menu planning, and management of the dining room during dinner service. The Cook will be part of a kitchen team, working under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in a fast-paced, professional environment focused on delivering a superior culinary experience
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certification
  • Positive team player, effective communicator and actively fosters an environment of trust and collaboration
  • Interested in working in a professional environment guided by an experienced and passionate Executive Chef

Responsibilities

  • Cook meals according to the weekly menu
  • Follow safe cooking practices
  • Assist in the ordering and receipt of food orders
  • Ensure meals are served in a pleasing and appetizing manner
  • Assist with Staff training
  • Cleaning food preparation areas and equipment
