About The Position

Spring Arbor of Crossville is seeking a passionate Cook to join their team. This full-time position offers competitive pay and a stable schedule, working Friday through Monday from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM. The role involves preparing high-quality, flavorful, home-style meals for residents and guests, ensuring food presentation enhances the dining experience. The Cook will also supervise kitchen operations under the direction of the Dining Services Director and Chef/Lead Cook, adhering to recipes, budgeted costs, and company policies. Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen equipment, ensuring food safety, and approaching residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
  • Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Some software and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented making each meal service an exceptional occasion.
  • Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
  • Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes.
  • Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies.
  • Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
  • Properly maintain all kitchen equipment.
  • Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of food borne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
  • Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Other job duties as assigned
